Rick Stafford Bamboo/Dragonfly Wall Piece


This beautiful wall piece by artist Rick Stafford is made of porcelain, based on the Japanese "Neriage" technique. Metallic oxides are added to the clay to achieve different colors which are then laminated into design blocks. These are sliced like Christmas cookies and rolled into color sheets that are cut into different motifs and applied to the porcelain giving the finished pieces a similarity to fused glass. The piece measures 23 1/4 wide by 12 3/4 inches in height.
